What you’ll learn about:

  • selecting the right mortgage
  • finding the property that’s right for you
  • negotiating the sale
  • home inspections
  • insurance
  • property taxes
  • credit scores
  • interest rates
  • budgeting
  • home maintenance
  • the many details from contract to closing

…and much more.

We’ll also provide an orientation to CPAH’s Down Payment Assistance grant programs.

How to get started:

CPAH’s homebuyer education classes are offered in both English and Spanish during the evenings and weekends. All classes are taught by HUD-Certified Housing Counselors. Class registration is required. Registration is $25. You can register up to two members of the same household, however, both household members must be registered to ensure space is available.

Those arriving more than 15 minutes late will not receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is required by some mortgage lenders in order to obtain a loan. It is also required to receive down payment assistance through CPAH.
